Firefighters Rescue Woman From Burning Apartment

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Firefighters in Duluth rescued a woman from her burning apartment.

Authorities say heavy fire broke out on the second and third levels of the three-story building Thursday afternoon. Firefighters found a woman whose exit was blocked by falling burning debris. They were able to help the woman out of the building. She was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Fire officials say some pets were saved, including several cats, guinea pigs and a fish. One cat died in the fire.

The Red Cross is helping 7 people displaced by the fire.
