Firefighters Rescue Man Who Fell Down River Embankment

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minneapolis firefighters have rescued a man who fell down a Mississippi River embankment near the University of Minnesota campus.

Authorities say the man was walking along the river on top of the embankment when he fell 50 to 75 feet Thursday morning.

Rescuers launched a boat to help the man because of the steep, rough terrain on the embankment. He was taken to a local hospital. There's no immediate word on his condition.
