MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two people were found dead by fire crews in a Minneapolis home early Tuesday evening.

According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, crews responded to a report of a fire at a single-family home at 2940 Washburn Ave. N. just before 6:30 p.m.

Firefighters entered the home and quickly put out a fire in the living room. While searching the house, they found two people dead in a bedroom.

The deceased have not been identified.

The neighbor who called 911 said firefighters got to the scene quickly.

"As soon as I called, they came here so fast," Patrice Johnson said. "They broke down the door, and that's when they...dragged them out of the house. And it was more than shocking, it was just horrible. I've never been through any thing like it."

Minneapolis Police are assisting fire officials with the investigation.
