Fired Lakeville Police Officer Sues City In Federal Court

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Lakeville police officer who was fired after talking to the media without permission is suing the city in federal court, arguing that the termination violated his First Amendment rights.

Rich Bussler argues that the police department's media policy is flawed and that he didn't violate it before his termination in November 2014.

He served about 17 years on the police force.
