Fire Destroys Chaska Home

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A family is picking up the pieces after their home caught fire early Saturday morning in Chaska.

The Chaska Fire Department received report of a fire just after midnight on the 2900 block of Hilltop Drive.

The five-member family were in the basement of the home and were alerted to the fire by a neighbor. They made it out safely, and they are being helped by the Red Cross.

It's suspected that the fire may have started in the garage. Firefighters from 12 area departments responded to the scene.

A fund has been set up to help the family rebuild. Here's how to donate.
