Fire Damages Home In White Bear Lake, No Injuries

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said one person made out it safely after a fire at a home in White Bear Lake early Wednesday morning.

Crews were called to the 2500 block of Manitou Island Avenue just after 2 a.m. on a report of a house fire. The homeowner called 911 after the fire started while he was working on his furnace. When firefighters arrived, some flames were showing from the roof, but mostly smoke was showing from the attic.

The home's lone one occupant got out of the home safely and was not hurt in the fire, authorities said.

Fire officials said the home suffered damage, but it's not clear how extensive it is at this point. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Fire departments from Vadnais Heights, Mahtomedia and Hugo provided assistance at the scene.
