Federal Money Aims To Tackle Minnesota Opioid Abuse Problem

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Federal money is reportedly coming in to help Minnesota tackle a growing opioid abuse problem.

The Minnesota Department of Health says overdose deaths have nearly doubled in the past decade, from 111 in 2005 to 216 in 2015.

The federal government is giving a five-year, $1.6 million grant to the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
