Fatal Crash Stalls Traffic On I-35W In South Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A fatal crash involving a pedestrian stalled traffic south of downtown Minneapolis Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 7 a.m. on Interstate 35W near 46th Street South.

The State Patrol said that the left two lanes of south-traveling traffic were closed following the crash.

Officials later informed that the victim jumped from the 46th Street overpass and was struck by an SUV.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center as a precaution, but authorities said did not appear to have sustained any injuries.
