Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Dakota County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Dakota County.

According to the state patrol, the incident occurred at around 5:50 a.m. on southbound Minnesota State Highway 77 near Interstate 494.

The state patrol says a driver on a 1994 Honda motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Interstate 494 ramp in order to get on southbound Highway 77 before the crash. The motorcycle then bounced over the divider curb and ended up in right two lanes of Highway 77.

The driver, who has not been identified, was killed.

Why the motorcyclist hit the divider curb is not known at this time.
