State Patrol: 1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured In Dakota Co. Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One woman is dead and a man is seriously injured after a crash in Dakota County Saturday.

The crash occurred on Highway 56 at County Road 88 in Hampton just before 10:30 a.m.

State Patrol said 81-year-old Glen Travis was driving a Toyota Camry northbound on Highway 56 when a GMC Terrain driven by 55-year-old Lori Hoefs failed to stop at a stop sign. The Terrain struck the Camry, which was forced into the southbound lane and hit a third vehicle.

The Camry's passenger, 78-year-old Brenda Travis, was killed in the crash. Glen Travis was seriously injured.

The passenger of the third vehicle received non-life threatening injuries.

Debris from the crash damaged a fourth vehicle, State Patrol said.

Hoefs was not injured in the crash.

The crash involved three vehicles, according to State Patrol.
