Fashion Week Comes To The Twin Cities With 'MN 4 MN'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Just because we're far from Paris and Milan, it doesn't mean Minnesotans don't love fashion. Fashion Week just wrapped up in New York and now we're getting our turn to have a fashion event.

Founder Ini Iyamba joined our WCCO This Morning crew to talk about "Minnesota 4 Minnesota."

"Minnesotans are very fashionable," he said. "We just need the opportunity and the place to do it and 'Minnesota 4 Minnesota' is the platform for that."

The fashion event, which will be tented, will give fashionistas a chance to get that full fashion week experience, just like in Bryant Park, Iyamba said.

According to the event's website, "The weekend showcase will feature everything fashion — from national renowned retailers to local boutiques, artists, and designers. MN4MN makes its debut as a premiere annual showcase for fashion that looks beyond 'of the moment' trends to highlight Minnesota designers and companies that create clothing and accessories that are both on trend and stand the test of time."

Featured designers include Cheryl Shohet Designs, Christopher Straub, Duluth Pack, Emma Berg, Faribault Woolen Mill, Freedom From Doubt, Hackwith Design House, Handsome Cycles, Marked Leather, Oh Dier, Oie Jewelry, Richard Anderson Design, Stephanie Lake Design, Target and more.

The "Minnesota 4 Minnesota" event is this Friday and Saturday at the Shops at West End in St. Louis Park.

Tickets cost $30.
