Farmers Predict Bumper Crop For Apples This Year

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – After a couple of tough years it looks like orchards are finally getting a break!

Farmers are predicting a bumper crop this year. In fact, some apples have already arrived early.

They said mild summer temps have made for near-perfect growing conditions.

The Minnesota Apple Growers Association said apples like McIntosh and Sweet Sixteen are ready for picking now. Others, like the popular Honeycrisp, will be ready next week.
