Faribault Man Leads Police To Body Of Missing Woman

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A Minnesota man has been arrested in the killing of a woman who vanished from Ohio.

Twenty-six-year-old Chelsea Martinez went missing from Columbus last Thursday.

A Rice County Sheriff's deputy found her abandoned car in a park near Faribault in Warsaw Township on Monday.

Investigators say Jason Nisbit, 39, has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree homicide.

Police believe Nisbit lured Martinez to Minnesota and Rice County over the internet.

Nisbit cooperated with police Friday, telling them where to find the body. The body is being transported for a positive identification.

Police combed the area across from Shager Park where Martinez' abandoned car was found earlier this week.

They say they hope this brings some closure to her family.

Nisbit's record shows only a traffic infraction, and the Rice County sheriff said his office has had no prior contact with him.

He is expected to be formally charged Monday.
