Family Of Slain Officer Gets The Call At Wild Game

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The family of slain Mendota Heights police officer Scott Patrick had a special honor at the Minnesota Wild game.

The officer's wife, Michelle Patrick, and two teenage daughters led the crowd in the "Let's Play Hockey" call at Tuesday night's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Xcel Energy Center.

Michelle Patrick says the opportunity was a good chance to show the community the family is doing OK. She says it means a lot for the team and fans to recognize what her family is going through, which she says continues to be a long journey.

Patrick was shot and killed in July while making a traffic stop.
