Fall Street Cleaning Begins Oct. 20 In Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Drivers in Minneapolis should be on alert next week as Minneapolis Public Works begins fall street cleaning.

Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 20, crews will begin curb-to-curb sweeping and leaf collection throughout the city.

The project will last four weeks and will include 1,100 miles of city streets.

To help ensure crews get the streets as clean as possible parking is prohibited from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on streets being cleaned. "No Parking Signs" will be posted at least 24 hours in advance and the city will also use Facebook and Twitter to post periodic sweeping updates.

Additionally, residents should receive a phone call the evening before their block is swept.

Drivers who do not comply may be ticketed or even towed.
