Fall-Like Weather Hits Minnesota Prior To Autumn Season's Start

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Autumn doesn't officially begin until Sept. 22, but Minnesotans will get a taste of fall-like temperatures beginning Tuesday.

Monday will start off mild, with temperatures in the high 70s and increasing clouds throughout the afternoon.

Light showers are expected Monday evening, after which the cool air will move in.

Winds will shift behind the cold front, coming in from the north and helping to drop temperatures to the mid-50s. Highs for Tuesday then will only get into the high 50s to mid 60s.

Then, the sky clears for Wednesday, allowing temperatures to drop even lower.

The forecasted low for Wednesday is 47 degrees, the first time the Twin Cities has seen 40 degree temperatures since May 18.

A slight warm up is forecasted for the end of the week, but it should be said that winter is coming.
