Fairview Hospitals Screen Visitors For Flu
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Fairview Health Services is temporarily changing its visitor's policy at its seven hospitals because of widespread flu in Minnesota.
Fairview says its hospital will screen visitors for flu-like symptoms or exposure to others who have had symptoms. In addition, visitors must be 5 years and older. Hospital personnel will also be instructing visitors on hand hygiene and use of personal protective devices.
The Minnesota Department of Health says the flu is widespread across Minnesota.
The hospitals include Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton, Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital and University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview in Minneapolis, and Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing.
