FAA Loosens Runway Restrictions At MSP Airport

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will loosen its runway restrictions at MSP International Airport Friday.

The agency prohibited aircrafts from landing on Runway 35 at the airport back in late July. The FAA suspended flights, citing a risk of potential mid-air collisions.

The FAA will now alternate landings at Runway 35and departures from runways that crisscross over it.

The agency will continue to study if any other changes could be made to the runways to make them safer and increase those arrival-departure rates over time.
