Ex-Food Co-Op Manager Faces Embezzlement Charges

GREENFIELD, Mass. (AP) — The former general manager of a western Massachusetts food co-op faces charges of embezzling $60,000 from the organization.

Prosecutors say 51-year-old Dwight Gaddis, of Chanhassen, Minnesota, is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Franklin County Superior Court on five counts of larceny of more than $250.

Authorities say Gaddis embezzled the money in the nine months he served as general manager of the Franklin Community Co-op from December 2012 until September 2013.

The co-op runs McCusker's Market in Shelburne Falls and Green Fields Market in Greenfield.

It's unclear if Gaddis has a lawyer.
