Event Designed To Remember Victims Of Gun Violence

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Families of gun violence victims are taking part in a community event to remember and honor those who have died.

The Remembrance of Life event will take place Sunday afternoon at the Church of the Ascension in Minneapolis.

The event is organized by Protect Minnesota, MADDADS and From Death to Life. Organizers say it's an interfaith healing event designed to remember lives that were lost, as well as a chance to start the new year with a resolve to stop gun violence.

Family members of victims are asked to bring pictures of their loved ones. The pictures will be placed on a Remembrance of Life tree, while a bell is rung in his or her memory.
