Egg Prices Nearly Triple At Some Iowa Stores

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Egg prices have tripled at some supermarkets, and we have the outbreak of bird flu to blame.

In Iowa, nearly half the birds at farms in the state have been affected by the avian flu.

At Fareway Stores there a cartoon of 12 eggs jumped in price from $0.99 to more than $3.

Many Minnesotans may have also noticed prices are up quite a bit.

Officials have told WCCO that once farms get up and running again, and get supply back under control, prices should come down.
