Sculpture Stolen From Edina Park Found In Richfield Yard

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Edina city officials say a sculpture that was stolen from a park has been found after it was missing for several days.

A bronze sculpture called "Dreams Take Flight" was last seen in Centennial Lakes Park at about noon on Sunday, June 11.

The sculpture was spotting by a driver on a Richfield lawn on the 7200 block of Columbus Avenue Wednesday.

Police say the work of art does not appear to have sustained any damage.

The three-foot sculpture, of a young girl standing while playing with a toy airplane, weighs around 150 pounds and is valued at $25,000.

A $1,000 reward was offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person or persons responsible.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or suspects is asked to contact Edina police at 952-826-1600. The reward is being offered by the Edina Crime Prevention Fund.
