2 teen boys arrested after shooting during robbery in Edina, police say
Two teenage boys were arrested in connection with a shooting and robbery during a "Facebook Marketplace deal gone wrong" Sunday night, police said.
A 911 caller reported the robbery around 5:30 p.m., the Edina Police Department said. Responding officers found an 18-year-old man who had been shot in the arm. He was hospitalized and is expected to survive the wound.
Police said the victim and witnesses were "uncooperative," but investigators eventually identified two suspects via surveillance video. One of them, a 16-year-old boy, was arrested during a traffic stop. The other boy, 17, was arrested during the execution of a search warrant on the 4400 block of Parklawn Court. Police said a "ghost gun" was found during the search.
Both suspects are being held at the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center.
Police asked residents to avoid the 7100 block of France Avenue, where the 911 call came from, while they investigated. The robbery occurred about a half-mile away in the parking lot of an apartment building on the 7300 block of Gallagher Drive.
