Edina Man Dies In Crash On I-94 In Maple Grove

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 33-year-old Edina man was killed Sunday when his car went off the road on Interstate 94 in Maple Grove and hit a building, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities responded to the crash at about 3:58 p.m. Sunday on eastbound I-94 at Maple Grove Parkway. When officers arrived, a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta was heading eastbound on the interstate when it swerved off the road, into the right ditch and hit a utility building.

The driver of the car, identified as Andrew Hou, was taken to North Memorial Medical Center and pronounced dead. Authorities said Hou was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

What led up to the accident is still under investigation.
