Police: 2 Found Dead In Eden Prairie Home, Person Of Interest Arrested

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police have still not identified a man and woman who were found dead Thursday morning inside an Eden Prairie home.

But, they say they have the man who may have killed them in custody. Police arrested 38-year-old Nathan Lehman while he was driving near Buffalo at about 11:19 a.m.

It came just a few hours after the man and woman were found dead inside a home along the 6000 block of Woodhill Trail in Eden Prairie. Records show Lehman's father owns the home.

Police say they knew to look for Nathan Lehman because of his difficult past with his family.

"I had no idea what to think. I have never seen anything like this in this neighborhood," resident Drew Lee said.

Neighbors like Drew Lee wandered outside the perimeter of the crime scene in disbelief.

"It shakes you. It is a very quiet street, very quiet neighborhood," Lee said.

Crime scene investigators with Hennepin County and Eden Prairie police spent hours collecting evidence inside the Eden Prairie home, owned by a man named Robert Lehman. He's Nathan Lehman's father.

"Eden Prairie police identified a person of interest associated with the residence due to several prior 911 calls over the past 10 years," Lt. Bill Wyffels with the Eden Prairie Police Department said.

Over the years, court records show Nathan Lehman was charged with assault, drug possession and was committed for mental illness and drug dependency as recently as April of 2016.

This 2014 criminal complaint alleges Nathan Lehman pushed his father Robert and his father's wife, Debra, and attempted to keep them from calling 911. Responding officers reported they were familiar with Nathan Lehman, who they said displayed paranoid behavior in the past, and had medical psychiatric problems.

While questions remain, neighbors are certain they are witnessing a tragedy.

"This is not the type of thing you want to bring a neighborhood together but often times it does," Lee said.

Eden Prairie police were questioning Nathan Lehman Thursday afternoon. Police say they're not looking for any other suspects.

The incident remains an active investigation.
