5 Indicted Following Eau Claire Drug Conspiracy Probe

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) — A yearlong investigation into the large-scale distribution of illegal drugs in the Eau Claire area has resulted in federal indictments against five people.

Police say the five were involved in a conspiracy that over two years brought marijuana from the western U.S. to Eau Claire and surrounding communities, and distributed hundreds of pounds of pot, cocaine and methamphetamine.

Authorities say they expect to charge several more people in the case.

Local, state and federal authorities are involved in the investigation.
