Mother Eagle ON DNR Eagle Cam Finally Lays Egg

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Better late than never: Minnesota's favorite Mother Eagle finally laid an egg Monday.

For the last six years, the mom has laid eggs in the same nest.

The DNR says this is the latest she has ever laid an egg.

Experts say the male of the nest is not the same father they've seen in years past.

According to the DNR, the later timing for the egg arrival is beneficial for incubation and Eaglette survival.

They say Eagles typically lay eggs in March.
