DNR: Rescued Eaglet To Get Treatment At Raptor Center

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An eaglet spotted struggling in its nest on the DNR's Eagle Cam was rescued Friday night.

The chick was believed to have been stuck in the mud on the nest brought on by recent rains.

The DNR originally said it would not intervene, but it sent someone up to the nest to free the eaglet.

The DNR took the live camera offline, but viewers who already had it up were able to see the rescue.

The eaglet was quickly taken out of the nest.

One of the eaglet's parents returned to the nest a short time later.

The DNR hasn't said yet whether the eaglet will be returned to the nest, and when the live camera will be back online.
