Police: Man Shot By Guard In Eagan Also Worked For Security Company

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police say the man fatally shot by a guard in Eagan Monday was employed by the same security company as the shooter.

Friday, the Eagan Police Department said Young Matthew Vang is the security officer who fatally shot 25-year-old Davon Wiley. Vang is employed by Mill City Protective Agency.

Police also said Wiley was an employee of Mill City Protective Agency and was not on duty when he was shot.

Police said Wiley was shot early Monday morning at an office park on Aldrich Drive. Vang told officers he shot someone who attempted to rob him.

Officers found Wiley dead at the scene, wearing a mask. Police believe Vang acted in self-defense.

Authorities are still investigating.
