Man Turns Himself In For Stealing Charity Boxes In Eagan

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – City officials in Eagan arrested and booked a man in connection with surveillance video last week of a man stealing boxes of money meant for charity.

The thefts happened last Thursday at the Super America on Yankee Doodle Road and the Lucky's Gas Station on Coachman Road.

Police say that in both cases the suspect would approach the clerk and ask for a job application. When he got the application, he'd use it to shield him as he swiped a charity box and walked out.

The total amount of money stolen was thought to be no more than $50, police say. The money had been donated to World Vision and a group that helps Minnesota veterans.

Eagan Police say Christopher Hall, 26, came to police Tuesday evening and admitted to the thefts. He was booked at the Dakota County Jail.
