Police: Drunk Woman Tried To Pick Up Relative Jailed On DWI

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police in Chaska say a woman who drove to pick up a relative jailed for DWI was herself arrested for drinking and driving.

The details of the "family reunion" were posted Wednesday in Chaska police's community newsletter.

Police said the woman drove to Carver County Jail to pick up a relative who'd been arrested for DWI earlier in the day.

The woman was herself intoxicated, police said, and jail staff called officers to her location.

When officers confronted the woman, she failed field sobriety tests.

Police say she was arrested and charged with second-degree DWI.
