Minnesota Brothers Dominate Federal Duck Stamp Contest

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Federal Duck Stamp contest is being dominated by one Minnesota family.

James Hautman of Chaska won the 2016 contest with his acrylic painting of Canada geese.

It was Hautman's fifth win, tying him with his brother Joseph Hautman of Plymouth, whose art appears on this year's stamp.

In third was another brother, Robert Hautman of Delano, a previous two-time winner, with his acrylic painting of a pair of Canada geese.

The Hautman brothers have won 12 Federal Duck Stamp contests. They swept the top three spots last year.

Stamp sales raise about $25 million a year to fund waterfowl habitat programs.
