2 Duck Hunters Rescued On Leech Lake After Boat Capsized

WALKER, Minn. (AP) — Two duck hunters had to be rescued when their boat capsized on northern Minnesota's Leech Lake in windy, dark conditions.

Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch says his office was notified about 6:20 a.m. Tuesday of the incident on the east side of the lake, southeast of Battle Point.

Deputies used cellphone mapping technology to locate the two hunters, who had fallen into the water but were on top of the capsized boat when found. Both men were wearing floatable coats.

The men weren't identified.

Authorities on Tuesday also recovered the body of a Federal Dam man whose canoe apparently capsized in Leech Lake last week.
