Dubnyk Named NHL's First Star Of The Week

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- After leading the Minnesota Wild to four wins with stellar play in net, Devan Dubnyk was named the NHL's First Star of the Week on Monday for the week of March 23-29.

Dubnyk finished the week 4-0-0 in net with a 1.22 goals against average and a .962 save percentage as the Wild got victories over Toronto, the New York Islanders, Calgary and the L.A. Kings. Since being acquired in a trade, Dubnyk is 26-6-1 in net with a 1.70 goals against average and a .939 save percentage. That mark includes five shutouts.

In 50 starts this season, he's second in the NHL with a 2.05 goals against average and save percentage at .93. He's also tied for fourth in shutouts with six and sixth in wins with 35.

Dubnyk is the first player in Wild history to be part of the NHL's Three Stars of the Week three times in a single season. He was the First Star on Feb. 9 and the Third Star on Feb. 2.
