Driver Killed After Running Red Light In Mpls. ID'd

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office says a 27-year-old Mound man died from blunt force head trauma in a crash Thursday afternoon.

Minneapolis Police say Joshua Lee Patterson died after he drove his SUV through a red light at the intersection of South 2nd Avenue and East 35th Street.

Patterson was said to have been speeding when he ran the light and crashed into another SUV. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver he hit survived and was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. Their condition has not been released.
