Driver Injured After Crash With Semi In Fridley

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A driver suffered minor injuries after being involved in a crash with a semi-truck early Thursday morning in Fridley, according to the State Patrol.

Authorities responded to the accident just after midnight in the area of 73rd Street and University Avenue. When officers arrived, a car ran a red light and hit the semi-truck, causing the car to burst into flames.

The State Patrol said the trailer of the semi-truck caught fire and suffered minor damage in the crash. The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt. Authorities said the driver of the car could be cited for inattentive driving.
