Woman, 23, Charged In Pond Crash That Killed 2 Children

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Maple Grove mother who crashed into a St. Louis Park retention pond with a car full of children is now facing jail time.

Marian Guerrido, 23, was driving with her three kids and two of her boyfriend's children last November when she lost control, submerging the car.

She's charged for not properly restraining all of the kids, an instruction permit violation and for not having insurance. All three charges are misdemeanors.

In March, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said the crash did not warrant felony criminal charges, calling it a "horrible, tragic situation."
