Dog Rescued After Falling Through Thin Ice In St. Louis Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A dog rescue situation in St. Louis County serviced as a reminder to practice caution around ice in the beginning of the winter season.

According to the St. Louis County Rescue Squad, on Monday a Rottweiler mix named Bailey broke through thin ice on Little Grand Lake.

Bailey had run out onto the ice, broke through and was unable to get back onto solid ice.

Two rescue workers with the Grand Lake Fire-Rescue were able to pull Bailey to safety.

The St. Louis County Rescue Squad used this as an opportunity to remind people that the ice is not safe.

With temperatures in the near 40s, any ice that remains is not safe to walk on.
