DNR Streaming Live Video From Metro Eagle Nest

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A couple of bald eagles are sitting on eggs in a Twin Cities nest and you can watch it all happen from your computer.

The Department of Natural Resources' eagle camera is streaming the video live.

DNR biologists think this is the same pair of birds that used the nest last year, but those eggs never hatched.

Biologists think those eggs were laid too early and froze. But this year, the birds have laid two eggs in the last five days and now it's warmed up some which may help.

"We're excited they came back, and grateful that they've waited until a little later in the season to lay their eggs," said Lori Naumann, DNR nongame specialist. "With the thaw this week, we're really hoping the birds will be more successful this year."

The location of the nest is being withheld to prevent the eagles from being disrupted.
