DNR: Mille Lacs Walleye Population Improving

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources announced earlier this week that for the first time since 2008, the survival of younger walleyes in Mille Lacs Lake appears to be improving.

Fishery officials will hold a presentation Wednesday night in Aitkin to discuss the walleye population.

They will present a study about what fish are eating in Mille Lacs, and how much is consumed by predator fish.

It's all part of a series to share biological information about fish management in the popular lake.
