DFL Endorses Us Sen. Al Franken For Re-Election

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — U.S. Sen Al Franken has won the endorsement of Minnesota Democrats for a second term.

Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party convention delegates in Duluth backed him by acclamation and welcomed him to the stage at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.

He recalled promising them six years ago that he would take back a seat that had been held by Hubert Humphrey, Walter Mondale and Paul Wellstone. He promised to win it again, but by a bigger margin than the 312-vote majority he got in 2008.
