Delta Pilots Agree To Contract Terms In Principle

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A standoff between Delta Airlines and its pilots is finally over.

According to a statement from the Airline Pilots Association, Delta management and the pilots' union representatives reached an agreement on the pilots' collective bargaining rights in their new contract.

Friday's tentative agreement is the result of 19 months of negotiations, according to the APA. The terms and language of the agreement will go to the pilots' union for a seven-day review period, when members will vote on ratification.

Earlier this month, pilots picketed -- but did not strike -- at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport amid the ongoing negotiations.
