Fake Presidential Candidate 'Deez Nuts' Stands Behind Protest

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Remember early in the presidential race there was a candidate by the name "Deez Nuts" polled for the Iowa caucus?

The 15-year-old Iowa boy -- Brady Olson -- is no longer on the ballot, but he stands behind his protest.

"You were still hoping there's a way of this, right?" he said. "We've got a chance to get out of here."

The Federal Election Commission sent a letter telling Olson, or Deez Nuts, to withdraw. At his age, Olson isn't legally able to run for President and he was told he could face felony charges.

Deez Nuts did score as high as 7 percent support in Minnesota and Iowa polls.

Olson says he isn't discouraged with politics. He says he's thinking about running for Congress -- when he's eligible -- in 2024.
