1 Dead In Brooklyn Park House Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One man is dead after a fire engulfed a home in Brooklyn Park overnight.

Officials say crews received a call of a fire in Brooklyn Park just after midnight. The call came from a driver who could see the flames while traveling on Highway 252. The caller found the home and directed officials to a house on the 1300 block of 84th Court North.

Upon arrival, the house was already engulfed in flames.

Firefighters from five departments knocked down the fire pretty quickly, but not before it destroyed the second floor and roof.

After quelling the flames, firefighters found the body of a man inside the home. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. At this point, they've found nothing suspicious.
