Dayton Back Home After Mayo Clinic Hip Surgery

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Gov. Mark Dayton has checked out of Mayo Clinic after hip surgery.

Dayton's office says that he left the Rochester clinic on Friday and returned to the governor's residence in St. Paul. He checked into Mayo Clinic on Monday where he underwent the surgical procedure to alleviate pain in his hip.

The 67-year-old governor has now had three procedures at Mayo since taking office, including back surgery in December 2012 and a platelet injection last October to heal a torn hip muscle.

Dayton's office says the governor met with senior members of his staff on Friday afternoon. Dayton plans to work at his residence while recuperating, and will limit travel for up to three months while he wears a brace to help with his recovery.
