Day Care Worker Dies Following Roseville Park Assault

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 28-year-old day care worker who was assaulted last month has died of his injuries, according to the Roseville Police Department.

On Dec. 22, Ismail Jama was believed to have gone into Autumn Grove Park alone, where he was attacked by the tennis courts.

He was found in a drainage pond ditch semi-conscious by a neighbor visiting the park two days later.

Jama worked full-time at a Minneapolis day-care facility.

On Thursday, Jama died of his injuries. His death has been provisionally ruled by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner to the be result of a penetrating wound to his brain.
