Dave Ray Tribute Concert Set Nov. 9 In St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Red House Records will stage a St. Paul concert next month honoring the late folk-blues musician Dave "Snaker" Ray.

The concert will feature Ray's former bandmates and admirers. Among those scheduled to perform are "Spider" John Koerner, Tony Glover, Charlie Parr, Camille Baudoin of the Radiators, the John Beach Band, and Willie Murphy and Ray's brother, Max Ray.

On Tuesday, St. Paul-based Red House is releasing a three-CD set of Ray's rare and unreleased recordings, titled "Legacy."

Dave Ray died in 2002 after battling lung cancer. He was part of the Twin Cities trio Koerner, Ray and Glover, whose recordings influenced John Lennon, Bonnie Raitt and Beck.

The concert is Nov. 9 at the Minnesota History Center. Tickets are available online and by phone.
