Unable To Watch Packers, Wis. Dad Creates Drone Monster

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A northeastern Wisconsin dad may have won Halloween this year.

Fifty-year-old Michael Irvine, of Peshtigo, Wisconsin, captured the internet's imagination this weekend after he created a Dementor, a supremely evil creature from the Harry Potter universe, using a drone.

Irvine told BuzzFeed News that he created the dark being to scare his daughters, who are huge fans of the J. K. Rowling fantasy series.

Images of the drone-monster -- constructed with fishing line and a Halloween prop -- were tweeted Sunday by Irvine's nephew, Zac Crueger. They quickly went viral, garnering 160,000 retweets and 290,000 favorites as of Wednesday.

Crueger told Refinery29 that his uncle created the monster after not being able to watch the Packers' poor performance against the Cowboys.

As such, it looks like we have to blame Aaron Rodgers for this creation -- and all the others sure to be inspired by it.
