Crews Respond To House Fire In Crystal

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A kitchen fire spread through a house in Crystal early Saturday morning.

Fire crews responded to a call just before 2 a.m. in the 5600 block of Maryland Avenue.

Officials said the fire began in the kitchen and spread throughout the house.

Visible flames could be seen coming from the home.

Everyone inside did make it out safely, including a dog.

"Our fire crews were able to rescue a dog that was in a kennel in the basement. When we brought the dog out it was unresponsive. We gave the dog oxygen, and the dog is now up and seems to be doing well," Lieutenant Bethany Brunsell said.

The Red Cross is helping the family.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
