Crews Battle Cold Weather, Fire In Isanti County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said temperatures around zero made it very difficult to battle an overnight fire in Isanti County.

Authorities were called to a home in Athens Township on a report of a fire. When crews arrived, the blaze had spread from the back of the home and up into the attic. Fire officials said one person was inside the home at the time of the fire, and was able to make it out safely.

Fire crews had difficulty battling the blaze with cold temperatures. Authorities said they had to haul in water from a nearby station to get the fire under control.

Nobody was hurt in battling the fire. Authorities said it's believed an electrical issue is what sparked the fire.
